Renate Groenewoud is a Holland based artist and part time preschool teacher who enjoys spending time talking to three year olds. And I’m pretty sure the latter is what inspires her to create beautiful, enchanting portraits of little ones that I just can’t look away from. Each of her paintings make me curious about what is happening in their minds. And the eyes… I can’t stop staring at their eyes! The angry girl with the blue coat is my favorite.
It’s the cheeky expressions in these girls’ faces that first caught my attention to Valentina Armstrong’s illustrations. Aren’t they adorable? I love how her delicate style and eye for detail is visible in both her portraits and beautiful botanical paintings. The girl in the first image with the magical robe is my favorite!
We’re starting off the week with a selection of my favorite illustrated ladies by illustrator Brunna Mancuso. Aren’t these gorgeous? They are paintings from a 100 days project, which Brunna recently initiated on Instagram. The beautiful girl with the pink hair is my favorite so far!
I did a little happy dance when I stumbled upcon the painted ladies by Isabella Di Sclafani. I can’t stop staring at the wonderfully awkward and oh so striking expressions in their faces. Love! Based in Montreal, Isabella is a fulltime artist who has been painting since she was a teenager and gives the credits for her artistic path to her art loving dad:
In a series called Study Number One, illustrator Stefhany Lozano explores figures and human bodies in a playful and exciting selection of paintings. With colorful abstract shapes, she creates fascinating, one of a kind characters I would love to know more about. The long-armed character in the secone image is my favorite!
Last April, illustrator Maggie Cole joined the 100 Days of Hair project and started sharing portraits of folks with fabulous haircuts on Instagram. She is now on day 82 and it has been such a delight to see so many fun and diverse ‘looks’ pass in her feed! I love her playful style and the quirky expressions in the faces of her beautifully illustrated ladies <3
