Kat Hannah

The lovely little characters in Kat Hannah’s paintings look a slightly bit sad. Maybe confused even, as if they do not quite belong in their pale, empty environments even though they seem to be absorbed in them. However, for some reason they overwhelm me with pleasant sense of calmness. Like walking around in a dream, or in an unknown and empty place where there’s nothing to be bothered by. Not even joy or sadness. Interesting, appealing and simply adorable.. I love them!

Kat Hannah is an artist who lives nearby Philadelphia. The works on this blog are from a series called In a pale place. She has three Etsy shops where many more paintings can be found.

I love her work! Reminds me of the nordic paintings by Edvard Munch.
