About Lieke
Lieke van der Vorst is a Holland based artist who creates illustrations for commissions and for her own lovely shop called Liekeland. Her pencil drawings are always rich with beautiful colors and whimsical details that give her work lots of character. They capture magical atmospheres that often involve heartwarming friendships between animals and people.

I really hope Lino would like to go on an adventure to my place! My cat Francis would make Lino feel at home and they could talk about their adventures and trips. Francis used to be a sailor, so I bet they would have lots to talk about. And if Lino ever feel homesick we would of course take Lino back home. Happy adventures Lino!!

Lieke’s painting of a cat hiding in the garden is DELIGHTFUL. Reminiscent of a William Morris pattern, this piece caught my eye a few weeks back on Instagram. I don’t usually join in on the contests but for this one I just HAD to!
Lieke’s work is so rich, peaceful and made with enormous passion. I can’t wait for the next things she’ll create. Her illustrations are pure art. Love it!

I love illustration, and particularly love the artistic style of Lieke, how it transmits a sense of “otherworldliness” (if the word even exists…), and gives me a serene, heartwarming feeling. This sort of image just makes me smile. 🙂
