Paintings on wood by Joey Slaughter

Mixed media artist Joey Slaughter has an interest in human conversation and wonders how wavelenghts would look like if we could actually see them. With specific sentences and phrases in mind, he visualizes those conversations into wooden, laser cut panels with beautiful, harmonious color combinations. And they’re an absolute treat for the eye!

“The main idea is to create abstractions from conversations if you could see sound waves from analogue and digital devices passing through and around people. I imagine it to be very chaotic, yet beautiful.”

Very sophisticated, and wonderfully vibrant color here! Really interesting description on his website about where the art originates, conceptually, as well. Have a look.
