Nature is ever present, even in the most urban environments. With that philosophy in mind paper artist Claire Brewster creates beautiful, impressive sculptures out of outdated maps and atlases, giving them new lives in the shape of both delicate & dazzling birds, insects and flowers. Absolutely amazing..
Her sculptures are either pinned directly to a wall as part of a large installation or captured in box frames. When a ligt is shined on her installations, the beautiful shadows that appear give an extra dimension and sense of movement to her work, making them come to life.
Claire currently lives in London and recently started working on her sculptures fulltime. Her art has been exhibited worldwide and published in books and magazines as Vogue, World of Interiors & Marie-Claire Maison.
