Naomi Okubo was featured on the blog exactly one year ago. A nice moment to share some of her more recent paintings, which I spottedĀ on her website today. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone use as many colors in a painting as Naomi does, and I love every single one of them.

Wow, I love how colorful all of them are!
I appreciate how Naomi cranks up the chroma in the environments including people’s attire and sets that against the pale skin of her human subjects. These colorful environments enhance the pallor of the skin, and the pale skin of her human figures enhances the colorfulness of the environments. Beautiful dynamics!
