My latest illustration crush: Alja Horvat’s playful portraits of gorgeous-looking ladies <3 Hanging around in fabulous outfits, surrounded by flowers and all kinds of fun patterns. And the color combinations… love!
You can find a selection of the works below available in Alja’s Etsy shop.
The grey Dutch weather we’re having today leaves me craving for color. ..Something to remind me that we’re heading towards spring. Then I remembered stumbling upon Jessica Watts’s gorgeous, one of a kind paintings some time ago. Ladies with flowers, floral patterns, more flowers and the occasional budgie and parrot. And incredibly lush color combinations… Yes. I’m going to look at these paintings all day long!
From her studio in New Orleans, Juliet Meeks creates vibrant paintings and patterns that don’t shy away from color at all. Love the fresh floras and the playful little dots and details in her work. And that fox pouch.. so adorable!
Juliet gets inspired by vintage textiles and the organic shapes of nature. Her lovely designs appear on prints, pouches and other textiles, and are available as original paintings too.
I’m so in love with these bright florals and portaits by artist Jess Phoenix.. Elegant, bold and rich of color combinations I adore <3 In her works, Jess loves to explore colors as she constantly searches for new inspiration to create beautiful imagery. She has also designed products for clients such as Target, Starbucks and for countless local boutiques.
There’s something about these beautiful illustrations by artist Barbara Dziadosz. It’s in the elegant, effortless way these hands are holding branches of Snowflakes, Silver Eucalyptus and many other fabulous flora.. love!
There is so much beauty to absorb from these magical fower constructions by Holland based artist Anne ten Donkelaar. Aren’t they gorgeous? Anne creates her collages from pressed flowers and cut out flower pictures that are carefully placed on pins to create depth. Together, these little fragments of nature result into richly detailed sculptures with a delightful surreal touch:
Dazzling, dreamy and so gorgeous! Using colorful thread, Slow Stitch Sophie creates floral landscapes that look like they will bloom right off the fabric they’re stitched on. Take a minute to look at all the beautiful details in her work. The dots, knots and tiny twigs all blending into beautiful pieces of embroidered art. Love..
