Meanwhile at The Pottery Parade

It has almost been two months since I launched my own ceramics shop called The Pottery Parade. And as I added a small batch of new planters to the collection just now, it’s time for a little update! I know that I’ve been saying it quite some times lately but here it is again: the more hours I spend working with clay at the lovely Studio Noot & Zo, the more I love creating ceramics. Even though I have been spending so many time there recently, I still consider myself a newbee. But the feeling I get when a freshly baked pot comes out of the kiln.. oh boy.

[Update: only one pot of the new collection is still available. Thank you so much for your love (I cannot believe how fast that went), and very sorry if you missed it! I think I will be announcing a launching time before the next update and I hope to have them ready in two weeks. ]

More pots with character

Creating vessels with little eyes and noses is something I’m doing more and more. By experimenting with lots of different colors and techniques (such as hand painted patterns, splatters and glaze dipping), the characters seem to become more diverse. Although I create pots in different sizes I particularly like working on very small items such as this teeny tiny girl. Only able to carry small succulent or a handful of pens, it becomes more of  sculpture than a vessel but there’s something about the size that gives that makes them special to me <3

The Shop

Five new pots have been added to the shop today and I will continue to add more! However, as I am still learning and want to focus on trying out different things too, the shop updates will be frequent, but small. It still happens sometimes that my creations don’t turn out the way that I want them to be, and I do want to make sure that all the items I offer for sale are of good quality and can be enjoyed to the fullest. For the next update I am preparing a new selection of long-legged planters which I hope to add to my Etsy on about two weeks. I will announce the update on my Instagram when they go online!

Finally, a special note tot Suus and Ralph from Studio Noot & Zo who have spent lots of time and in teaching me so much about clay these last months! Suus is an amazing ceramist and an excellent teacher!

I hope you will enjoy this small collection of ceramics as much as I did making them. Happy weekend!
