Australian artist Emma Lisette Palmer draws every day. On paper, canvas, wood and, yes, spoons! Emma has created countless of lovely faces with big eyes, bight colors and quirky expressions on wooden cutlery that you would never in a lifetime consider using in the kitchen. Love!
Aren’t these the cutest kittycats ever? They are creations by Dutch illustrator & cat owner Anne Knispel. And they come in pins, prints and even patches ready to stitch on your favorite bag or jeans. Want!
Anne creates her cat goodies under the name Pony People (even though they don’t really involve ponies. Ha!) She has been doing so since 2011, when she started her mission to make the world a brighter place. Find many more of her self-made items on her site, Instagram, Facebook and Etsy shop.
Instagram is a great place to spot new inspiration. It’s where I recently stumbled upon (and fell in love with) these fun, quirky characters by South Korean artist Myeongjin Kam. Love her soft, simple and slightly magical style.
I spotted the dazzling, wild works of Rebecca Artemisa on Brown Paper Bag the other day and couldn’t stop staring at all the lovely (and sometimes scary) details of her illustrations. Love the chaos, the adventures and the excellent combination between cute and creepy. Beauty!
Current crush: Juliana López. Love her quirky little characters and the beautiful little details that surround them. Juliana is a Colombia based illustrator who likes to makes drawings of her own adventures and thoughts. She has also designed illustration for some textile products. Many more of her work can be found on Facebook & Behance.
It doesn’t get more kawaii (cute) than this. These lovely, friendly illustrations are works by Chicaco Toya; a Japan-based artist who creates works for Magazines, Children’s books, and Advertisements.
If you’re lucky enough to be in Tokyo at the moment you can go see some of her works at a group exhibition called Cat Power at L’illustre Galerie Le Monde. From what I can tell this gallery features some great artists so I’m pretty sad I can’t be there to visit. Send me some pictures if you go!
