Hiroyuki Izutsu

I absolutely love these colorful and rich, yet tranquil paintings by Japanese artist Izutsu Hiroyuki. They are from a series called Don’t Give Up Japan, which is a response to the dark period surrounding the Tōhoku earthquake & tsunami in 2011. With simple fragments and beautiful pink skies, his series bring some light to this period by showing just how beautiful Japan can be.
